About :
Origin & History: Centre for Advanced Studies in Poultry Science was established in 1985 as recognition for its contribution in various fields of activities. The centre has successfully completed 12 External Aided Projects. Release of crossbred chicken for backyard- Gramasree & Gramalakshmi, release of high yielding ILM-90, Establishment of ICAR Revolving Fund Poultry Project, implementation of NATP on productivity enhancement of Ducks and successful conduct of IV World Water Fowl conference, IPSACON 2015, RKVY project etc. are the significant milestones of the Centre.

General functioning (RF…)
The Revolving Fund Poultry Project presently operating under CAS in Poultry Science was sanctioned by ICAR in 1996 and project started functioning w.e.f. 03.03.1998 with the name ‘Establishment of a Commercial hatchery’ under Kerala Agricultural University with Rs. 25 lakhs as the corpus amount. The corpus fund was fully repaid in five installments and the project was carried out successfully under Kerala Agricultural University and transferred to Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University with name as ‘Revolving Fund Poultry Project’. This project is the largest RF project operating in autonomous mode under CASPS without any financial support from KVASU.
