An Introduction about the Finance Office

The Finance Office of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) is located at scenic hilly terrain of Pookode, Wayanad, Kerala. The Finance Officer is the Head of the Finance Office and he is in charge of the Finance, Accounts and Audit branches of the University. He is the principal advisor of the University on all matters connected with Finance and Audit of the University. The Finance Officer is the custodian and disbursing officer of the General Fund of the University. All payments received by him will be credited to that Fund and he will arrange to issue cheques on behalf of the University. He is responsible for the preparation of annual accounts and the Budget of the University and for their presentation to the Board of Management. He will keep a constant watch on the progress of expenditure against the budget and on the state of investments. He will monitor the progress of the collection of revenue and advise on the methods of collection employed. He will ensure that the registers of buildings, land, furniture and equipments are maintained up-to-date and that stock verifications of equipment and other consumable materials in all Departments of the University, University Centres, University Farms, specialized laboratories, colleges and institutions maintained by the University are conducted. He will make all arrangements for the transaction of business of the meetings of the Finance Council. He will enter into correspondence with the University Grants Commission, Government of India, State Government and other institutions and bodies on matters connected with the Finance, Accounts and Audit of the University.
