16The Directorate of Entrepreneurship of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University today, as part of livelihood improvement of the selected tribal colonies, distributed backyard poultry (gramashree birds) to the eighteen tribe families of Priyadarsini tribal colony, Pookode. Achieving food security, economic security and nutritional security among tribal population being one among the objectives set forth, the eggs from gramasreelayer stock distributed would ensure nutrition to the inhabitants including children. University also plans market support for the products of the tribal colony through it sales coulter outlet at Pookode and Kalpetta. Director of Entrepreneurship, Dr. T. P. Sethumadhavan distributed the birds to the inhabitants of the colony. He assured support in all possible ways to ensure livelihood support in terms of food and economic security within the project framework. DR. Vidya. P, implementing officer expressed gratitude for the whole hearted cooperation and participation extended by the colony members during various developmental activities undertaken in the Priyadarsini colony selected during the second phase of the project.
