17The farmers are fetching low price compared to the market prices of the livestock commodities along with the poor productivity are the major hurdles in livestock entrepreneurship says the Hon’ble registrar of KVASU, Dr.Joseph Mathew. He was speaking at the occasion addressing the farmers under AADUKARSHAKA SANGAM of Kodakara Panchayat and assured the support to continue screening of parasites and preventive measures initiated by the university in the Panchayat. The function was jointly organized by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship, KVASU as part of “Precision Farming ”in collaboration with Kodakara Panchayath Aadukarshaka sangam project and Veterinary Hospital Kodakara on 13th October 2017 at Kodakara Panchayath hall.
Kodakara Grama Panchayath President Mr.P R Prasadan inaugurated the function. Honorable University Registrar Dr.Joseph Mathew presided and presented the award for the best Goat farm in the project area to Mr.Thomas Paliakkara. During the programme Feed and Medicine were distributed to members of CIG by Dr. K Devatha, Professor and Head, Department of Parasitology College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy. Project report of seasonal wise parasitological screening of goats were presented by Dr. Deepa Ananth, Assistant Professor, KVASU. Dr. V. Ambily – Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Kodakara Veterinary Dispensary addressed the gathering Mr.Biju Narayanathottathil-President of Aadugramam project delivered the welcome address and Mr.Johny Veliyan – Secretory Aadugramam Project offered vote of thanks.
