12ASCAD training on Laboratory techniques and handling of modern diagnostic equipments for paraveterinary technicians funded by Department of Animal Husbandry and coordinated by the Dept. of Veterinary Parasitology, CVAS, Mannuthy under the aegis of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship, KVASU and Govt. of Kerala began at CVAS, Mannuthy on 12-03-2018. The first batch of five days training at CVAS, Mannuthy includes twenty livestock Inspectors from Thrissur District . Two batches of paraveterinary staff and three batches of Veterinary officers will undergo training of five and ten days duration respectively, during the months of March and April under this programme at nine different departments of CVAS, Mannuthy.
The participants were addressed by the Dean, Dr. C. Latha who stressed on the necessity of continuous trainings in improving skills and collecting information on newer trends of sample collection and disease diagnosis. The District Animal Husbandry officer, Thrissur, Dr. Vijayakumar requested the participants to focus on the practical need of the training which is very significant in discharging their duties as paraverinary staff especially during mass animal vaccination, reporting and communication. Dr. K. Devada, Professor and Head, Dept. of Veterinary Parasitology mentioned the significance of laboratory diagnosis in controlling animal diseases and felicitated the function. Dr.Lucy Sabu, Professor and Course Director welcomed the gathering and Dr.H.Shameem, Asst. Professor and co course director expressed vote of thanks.
