09The World Environment Day 2018 was celebrated on June 5th under the joint auspices of CAADECCS and CVAS, Mannuthy. The programme stated at 10AM, Dr V. Beena, Implementing officer, CAADECCS welcomed the gathering and Dr P.V. Treesa mol, Associated Dean CVAS, Mannuthy presided over the function. Dr P.V. Treesa mol also handed over the prize to the winners of photography completion jointly conducted by CAADECCS and Students union 2016-17, CVAS, Mannuthy. The Arshaquddeen C.P. of 2017 batch won the first prize and Christo James Francis of 2013 batch won the second prize. The chief guest, renowned freelance wildlife photographer Shri. Shaji Mathilakam delivered a talk on wildlife photography and the importance of nature conservation. The highlight of the event was the visual documentary which gave students an insightful glimpse of the social behavior of elephants. Besides this, the speaker's collection of first hand photographs of wild animals was also an enlightening experience for the faculty and students alike. The event extended up to 1.00 PM and Dr S. Harikumar, Assistant Professor delivered the vote of thanks.
