REPORT OF ZOONOSES DAY CELEBRATION 6TH JULY, 2018

World Zoonoses Day was celebrated on 6th July, 2018 at Chavakkad Municipality , Thrissur which was organised by School of Zoonoses Public Health and Pathobiology (SZPHPB)  and NSS Units of CVAS, Mannuthy . The programme was inaugurated by  Shri N K Akbar, Chairman, Chavakkad Municipality. Dr K Vrinda Menon, Implementing Officer, SZPHPB welcomed the gathering  and  Smt  Munjusha Suresh Vice Chairperson, Chavakkad Municipality presided over the function.  The seminar was organised for Higher Secondary Students of three schools of Chvakkad viz., GHSS, Manathala, LFCGSS, Mammiyoor and MRRM, Chavakkad. The awareness class on zoonoses was by Dr Binsy Mathew, Asst, Professor, Dept of VPH, CVAS, Mannuthy. The quiz  programme was conducted by Dr Ambily R, Asst Professor, Dept. Of Veterinary Microbiology, CVAS, Mannuthy  and Dr Justin Davis K Asst Professor, Dept. Of Veterinary Microbiology, CVAS, Mannuthy.

An exhibition on ‘Know zoonoses to No Zoonoses ‘ was also arranged for high school students of the various schools of Chvakkad Municipality.  The exhibition was arranged by NSS Volunteers of CVAS Mannuthy  and parastaff and Post graduate students of Dept. of VPH under the guidance of   Dr Bindu Lakhmanan Asst Professor, Dept. Of Veterinary Parasitology,  and  Dr Vrinda Menon, CVAS, Mannuthy . A poster painting completion was organised for high school  students of the school which was conducted by Dr Divya C, Asst. Prof, Dept of Vety. Pathology, CVAS, Mannuthy.
 
All the prizes for the poster competition were won by LFCGHSS, with first prize bagged by Thasnin P.S , second prize by Ros Liya Bency and third prize by Fathima Thasneen. The quiz competition was won by Nandana A P and Harsha Das of GHSS, Manathala. The prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners by Smt. Manjusha Suresh, Vice Chairperson, Chavakkad Municipality.
