World Environment Day Celebrations at CVAS, Mannuthy
The CAADECCS and NSS units of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy jointly organized the “World Environment Day” celebration at CVAS, Mannuthy on 10.06.2019. Dr P. V. Treesamol, Associate Dean, CVAS, Mannuthy chaired the function. Dr. V. Beena (Implementing Officer, CAADECCS) welcomed the gathering. Mr. Vinson Kurian (Deputy Editor, Hindu Business line and column writer on weather events) delivered a talk on the subject of “Climate Change and Animals”. He explained an integrated assessment of how the human activities were affecting the natural resources and the negative impacts associated with climate change. Also, he pointed towards the harmful effect of climate change on animal agriculture. Smt Sandhya, Sustainable Development Officer, ESAF Small Finance Bank, Mannuthy has also addressed the function. She explained the different green protocols implemented in their bank and distributed plant saplings to CVAS, Mannuthy as part of the function. Dr. S. Harikumar (Assistant Professor, Livestock Production Management) delivered vote of thanks.
BVSc and AH students of 2017 and 2018 batches along with NSS volunteers of the college planted the saplings and cleaned the college campus under the leadership of NSS Programme officers Dr. Sreeranjini. A. R. and Dr. K.M. Dileepkumar.
All batches of BVSc and AH students felicitously cleaned their class rooms as part of environmental day celebrations.
