Post Graduate Certificate In One Health Surveillance
Syllabus
Health surveillance is the ongoing, systematic collection, analysis and interpretation of health-related data with the a prior purpose of preventing or controlling health hazards and identifying unusual events of health importance, followed by the dissemination and use of such information for health action. The OH surveillance system aims at data collection at multiple domains using inter-sectoral collaboration for best outcomes in health management. This is also possible through cross-sectoral collaborative efforts between the human and animal (wildlife and domestic) sectors. The collaboration that exists in different dimensions (across sectors, disciplines, decision making-scales and through public-private partnerships) can be implemented at various steps of the surveillance process with various degrees of integration.
