14 As a part of the efforts of building collaboration, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University officials had a meeting with Ms. Lucile Martin, Deputy Director, ONIRIS, Nantes (Institution of Higher education and research under the French ministry of Agriculture authority), France in Chennai on 13th July 2011.Ms.Lucile elaborated on the organizational structure, the schools under the Institute and their current areas of research. ONIRIS is not having any collaborative institutes in India and is eagerly looking forward for their first tie up.
The delegation from KVASU included Dr. A. Jalaludeen, Director of Academics and Research Dr. S. Ramkumar, Director, Entrepreneurship, Dr. M.R. Saseendranath, Professor, Department of Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Dr.B.Sunil, Associate Professor, Department of Veterinary Public Health and Dr. T.P.Sethumadhavan, Academic Consultant and Officer on Special duty. Preliminary discussions brought out various themes in the field of Veterinary, Animal and Food sciences. Universities are planning to build upon these preliminary discussions for a meaningful collaboration in the future.
KVASU officials had a discussion with Mr. A.J. Solomon, Manager, Projects, South India, British council Division, Chennai on 13th July2011 and discussed the possibility of exploring linkages with Universities in UK through the British Council including UKIERI funding,institutional membership of British Council library, Chennai and the possibility of recognizing KVASU as IELTS coaching and examination centre in the State. It has been decided to send British Council newsletters and future events to all faculty members of KVASU after getting complete email ids of all faculty members. Online library membership for students and researchers of KVASU has also been discussed during the meeting.
