0924th National Congress of Veterinary Parasitology and National symposium on ‘towards food security through sustainable animal production and integrated parasite management’ held at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Mannuthy Campus on 5th -7thFebruary 2014. Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Department of Veterinary Parasitology of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy and Indian association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology organised this Seminar with the support from Department of Science and Technology, Kerala State Science, Technology and Environment and NABARD. Valedictory function was held on 7th February 2014. Dr.K.P.Sreekumar, Registrar, KVASU inaugurated the function. Registrar lauded the efforts of Department of Parasitology, Dr.Devada and Dr.Lucy Sabu for their untiring efforts in organising the Seminar. Dr.S.Ramkumar, Director of Entrepreneurship and Dr.P.C.Saseendran, Dean, CVAS, Mannuthy addressed the gathering. Prof. J. D. Ghosh, Vice President, Indian Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology presided over the function and Prof. S. K. Gupta, General Secretary, IAAVP, announced the awards for various scientific sessions.The Association congratulated Dr. K. Devada, Organizing Secretary and her team for the successful conduct of the National symposium and handed over a certificate of appreciation for the same.IAVP awards for best papers/presentations were distributed during the function.
Prof. Mohammed Hafeez,Former Vice Chancellor, SVVU, Tirupathi spoke on the occasion congratulating every member of the organizing committee by name, and with the permission of the chair honored Dr.K.Devada and Dr.Lucy Sabu for the efforts taken in conduction the whole show.

There were a total of 208 delegates who attended the symposium with 120 from outside the State.Organising Secretary Dr.Devada welcomed the gathering and Treasurer Dr.Lucy Sabu expressed vote of thanks.
