12 As part of Commodity Interest Group (CIG) training, a six days training programme on “Making Goat Farming a profitable enterprise” commenced at Meppadi grama panchayatin association with Kudumbashree CDS, Meppadi. At the inaugural programme of the training Mrs. Mini Kumar, Chairperson, Meppadi CDS welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Beena Mary, Chairperson, Standing committee on Development inaugurated the training programme. Leelamma Elias, Ward member and Dr.R.Senthilkumar, Head, Department of Veterinary Extension, COVAS, Pookode offered felicitation.
There are 92 beneficiaries enrolled for the training in two locations, Village Resource Centre (VRC), Meppadi and Community Health Centre (CHC) Hall, as two batches. The training include several sessions encompassing various aspects of development of goat enterprise such as management, nutrition, breeding, disease prevention, credit availability, marketing, value addition, etc.
