07Short term trainings on “Advanced concepts and techniques in the diagnosis and control of infectious and contagious diseases” for 10 days commenced at the CVAS, Mannuthy. The first batch of Veterinary Officers undertook the above training from 23-07-12 to 02-08-12. The trainees were given an insight on the advanced concepts in the diagnosis and control of diseases. The programme dealt with imparting knowledge not only on serological and molecular techniques but also on simple field level detection methods. The training encompassed theory and practical sessions in disciplines like Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Pathology, Preventive Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Gynaecology, Surgery and Entrepreneurship.Dr. S. Ramkumar, Director of Entrepreneurship released the training manual and Dean, Dr. H. Subramanian distributed the certificates. Dr. K. Devada was the Course Director and the Department of Parasitology co-ordinated the training.
