17 Directorate of Entrepreneurship, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organized a Farm feature workshop for the Faculty members and researchers on 17th September2011 at Seminar Hall of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy. Editor in Charge, Karshakasree Sri. R.T.Ravivarma (Seeri) inaugurated the Workshop. Sri. Ravivarma suggested that Livestock sector need equal coverage to that of Agriculture. Vice Chancellor KVASU Dr.B.Ashok IAS while delivering the opening remarks through tele- interactive mode, suggested that Faculty members and researchers must be equipped with the required writing skills to exploit the potentials of Farm journalism. Director of Entrepreneurship Dr.S.Ramkumar presided over the function.
Deputy Editor of Mathrubhumi Sri. M.P.Surendran launched the Farm News Services of the University. While launching the news services, Sri. Surendran opined that knowledge, skill and attitude are the cardinals of writing. While writing for the press the content must be farmer oriented in nature. Registrar, KVASU Dr.C.B.Manomohan and Director of Academics and Research Dr.A.Jalaludeen offered felicitations. Dr.H.Subrahmanian Dean, CVAS, Mannuthy welcomed the gathering and Dr.R.Rajendrakumar, Dean, CDST offered vote of thanks. Dr.S.Ramkumar took a class on creative writing. Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan explained the changing trends in Farm journalism. Dr.Deepa Ananth moderated the session.
