19The World Food Day programme was celebrated on 16th October 2015 at College of Food Technology (CFT), Thumburmuzhy, Thrissur. Mrs. Aysha C H, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Microbiology welcomed the delegates. Dr. Dinker Singh, Special Officer presided over the function. Prof. (Dr). Damodharan Namboodiri , Former Dean, College of Fisheries Sciences, Kerala Agricultural University, Panangad, Kochi was inaugurated the programme. An interactive lecture was delivered by Prof. (Dr). D D Nambudiri on the Topic “Food Technology: Opportunities and Challenges”. The programme was felicitated by Dr. Lalu K., Head (i/c), Cattle Breeding Farm, Thumburmuzhy. A poster competition was conducted on the theme “Social Protection and agriculture, Breaking the cycle of rural poverty”. All the students were participated in the competition. The evaluation of posters and distribution of prizes were done by the Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr). D D Nambudiri. Mrs. Athira S, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Chemistry expressed vote of thanks.
