20College of Food Technology, Thumburmuzhi, celebrated the National Integration and Communal Harmony day as part of the Quami Ekta week on 19th November 2015. Programme started with prayer at 11.15 am. Mrs Athira S, Assistant Professor and special officer i/C welcomed the gathering. Chief guest Dr P T Suraj, Assistant Professor and Head, Cattle Breeding Farm, Thumburmuzhi delivered the day’s message. He asked the students to give emphasize on what we can do for the Nation rather what Nation did for us, and set goals to be a good food technologist to support the National Integrity by providing novel technologies. National integration pledge was also taken on this occasion.
An elocution competition was conducted for the students on the topic National Integration and Communal Harmony: Pillars of Modern India. Five students participated and 1st and 2nd prize was distributed. The programme finally winded up by the National Anthem.
