Dr.P.C.Saseendran, Professor & Head, LPM retires from service due to superannuation

Dr.P.C.Saseendran, Professor and Head, Department of Livestock Production Management and Former Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences,  Mannuthy will retire on 30th November 2015 due to super annuation. Dr. P.C.Saseendran is son of late Sri. K.C.Chathukutty, retired Head post master and SmtKalyani, retired post master is a native of Kunnamkulam. He had his schooling in govt Boys high school, Kunnamkulam. After Pree Degree from GuruvayoorSree Krishna College he joined forB.V.Sc& AH program in 1973. He took his Master’s degree in LPM in 1979 and joined in Animal husbandry Department as Veterinary Surgeon. In 1979 November he joined as Jr Assistant Professor in University Pig Breeding farm.In March 81 he was selected as Assistant Professor and joined in LPM dept. From 1986 to 1989 he has worked as Head of Station of LRS thiruvazhamkunnu. In December 1990 he got selected as Associate Professor and joined at RARS Ambalavayal, Wayanad.In the same year he got deputation for Phdprogramme in Wild life and took his Doctorate from TANUVAS on the topic of “Monitoring and managing musth in Asian elephants”. In 2001 he has taken charge   as Head of Department LPM and in 2002 he was selected as Professor. In 2004 he has served as Visiting Scientist at Smithsonian Institute of USAand worked on “Investigating the control of musth in Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) using non invasive urinary hormone analysis” In 2005 Govt of Tamilnadu nominated him as member of Board of management in TANUVAS.He has guided 4 Doctorate and 15 masters programme as major guide.Queensland University of Australia has appointed him as co guide for their Ph.D. program.

 Task force committee appointed by Govt of kerala   for the formation of Veterinary Universit yco-opted him as member.He served two terms as Dean in charge of the College.His family consists of his wife smt A K Baby, High school teacher Govt higher secondary school Pattikkad, elder son Nikhil is an electrical engineer working as sub engineer in KSEB on contract basis and younger son Nithin is a final year BA Economics student at St. Thomas College. He is residing very close to college at Vettikkal.SERVICE PERIOD – 14/11/79  TO 29/11/15.
