ICAR winter school on One Health concludes at KVASU

       Valedictory ceremony of the ICAR winter school on “Application of One Health concepts for control of emerging zoonosis and health threat” was held at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode, Wayanad on 16/12/2015. Shri. Keshvendra Kumar, IAS, honourable district collector of Wayanad gave the valedictory address where he stressed upon the need for adopting the One Health approaches for combating the health threats at man – animal interface. He also endorsedthe One Health concept for the successful control of KFD outbreak in the districtby the collaborative efforts of multiple departments. Prof. (Dr.)K. Vijayakumar, Dean in his presidential address expressed his delight in the successful conduct of the winter school and asserted that ample exposure were providedto the participants in assimilating the concept of One Health and allthe participants can apply this doctrine in their respective domains of expertise.Dr.Prejit, Course Director of the winter school delivered the report of the 21 days training programme. Director of Academics and Research, Prof. K. Devada and Course Co-ordinator, Dr. B. Sunil delivered felicitation. Prof. K. Devada congratulated the Department of Veterinary Public Health, CVAS, Pookode and COHEART for organizing the national Winter School for the first time in Pookode campus. Associate Dean, Dr. M. Shynu welcomed the participants and Dr.Vinod VK, Assistant Professor delivered vote of thanks.
