17Announcing a New On-line (Distance) Learning Postgraduate Course in Clinical Animal Behaviour offered by Edinburgh University’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.
Edinburgh University has a long standing international reputation for quality postgraduate education in applied animal behaviour and animal welfare with graduates from the Masters levels animal welfare programmes working all around the world. We have now developed a new Postgraduate programme that can lead to a PG Cert, PG Diploma or Masters qualification, following part-time flexible study. This means that those interested in developing their career or furthering their interests in the field of Clinical Animal Behaviour, can do so in their own time, in their own home or place of work, and whilst living anywhere in the world. This exciting new programme provides up to date information about the use of evidence based approaches to allow us to understand, manage and treat behavioural problems in domestic animals. Taught by leading researchers and practitioners in the field of animal behaviour, veterinary medicine and welfare, this programme of study is suitable for all those who wish to learn more about why animals do what they do, the latest research into the way animal’s learn and are motivated and why behavioural and welfare problems develop, as well as the various methods used to help alleviate problems for the animal and owner. With strong international links in developing countries, the team will also provide a global perspective on the way in which pets and humans interact, cultural differences in expectations and tolerances and resultant issues for animal behaviour and welfare.
