18Poultry Entrepreneurship training programme for the farmers of Lakshadweep began at Directorate of Entrepreneurship of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy. Directorate of Entrepreneurship is organizing this programme with the support from Centre for Advanced Studies in Poultry Science. Five day training programme for the first batch will include hands on training on poultry production, processing, management and marketing. This will facilitate the farmers to practice scientific poultry production including broiler and layer farming. Dr.Sisilamma George, Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy presided over the function. Director of Entrepreneurship Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan inaugurated the programme. Dr.Leo Joseph, Director, Centre for Advanced Studies in Poultry Production delivered keynote address. Dr.Haneefa Koya, Veterinary Asst Surgeon, Department of Animal Husbandry offered felicitations. Co-ordinator of the programme Dr.Deepa Ananth welcomed the trainees and Dr.Binoj Chacko expressed vote of thanks. 18 entrepreneurs from Kavarati, Amini, Kalpeni and Androth Islands are attending the programme.
