22Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will pursue for collaborating with Lakshadweep administration for extending the facilities of 24X7 advisory call centre facilities of 2 Vet connect project of KVASU. This will envisage the farmers and entrepreneurs of the Island to access the call centre to get appropriate advice on scientific livestock farming. Call centre will answer all queries related to breeding, feeding, management, disease control, marketing and consultancy services. Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU and Department of Animal Husbandry will work together for ensuring the ICT deliverables to inhabitants of various islands. They can also avail knowledge management portal www. evetconnect.org, disease forecasting system and vetipedia. Valedictory function was held at Centre for advanced studies in Poultry Science, Mannuthy on 22nd January 2016. KVASU’s publications and entrepreneurship development programme will be made accessible to farmers of Lakshadweep. Director, Centre for advanced studies in Poultry Science, Mannuthy Dr.Leo Joseph presided over the function. Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences inaugurated the programme. Five day training programme imparted hands on training in various activities of poultry production including layer farming, broiler production, hatchery management, quail and dick rearing, marketing, value addition, etc.Director of Entrepreneurship Dr. T.P.Sethumadhavan distributed certificates to the trainees. Dr.Haneefa Koya from Animal Husbandry Department, Kavarati offered felicitations. Dr.Binoj Chacko welcomed the delegates and Dr.Deepa Ananth expressed vote of thanks.
