09Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University launched second batch of Poultry Entrepreneurship training programme for Entrepreneurs of Lakshadweep. The fully residential five day programme begins at KVASU Mannuthy Campus on 9th February 2016. Department of Animal husbandry of Lakshadweep District Panchayat, Kavaratti and Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Centre for advanced Studies in Poultry Sciences of KVASU are implementing the Entrepreneurship development programme. The training will cover various aspects of Poultry entrepreneurship including poultry production, feeding, management, disease control, marketing, broiler management, waste management and back yard rearing and value addition along with entrepreneurship, banking and finance. The training will equip the prospective entrepreneurs to start their own poultry venture. Broiler and layer farming will be given importance during the training programme. Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU in association with centre for advanced studies in Poultry science will organize the training at Mannuthy campus. Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship of KVASU inaugurated the training programme. Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Dr.Sisilamma George presided over the function. Director, Centre for Advanced Studies in Poultry Production Dr.Leo Joseph delivered keynote address. Dr.Haneefa Koya from Department of Animal Husbandry, Lakshadweep offered felicitations. Dr.Janus welcomed the delegates and Dr.Binoj Chacko expressed vote of thanks. This joint training programme will facilitate entrepreneurs of Lakshadweep to venture in to poultry farming in the Island so as to improve broiler meat and egg production.
