KVASU Orientation Programme on Academic Leadership to conclude on 9th March2016

28 day Orientation Programme on Academic Leadership organized by the Academic Staff College of KVASU at Mannuthy for twenty faculty from various colleges of the state will conclude on Wednesday, March 9th. The programme which was inaugurated by Dr.M.C.Dileep Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady on February 11th, 2016, saw the participants being taken through the core facets of leadership issues in centre’s of higher learning. The participants had an opportunity to interact with eminent faculty in various areas of education , pedagogy, interpersonal relations, cyber crime and security, communication and leadership including field visits to motivate them to address the challenges of higher education in the current scenario . The unique feature of the programme was the special sessions where in the participants were exposed to yoga and physical activity for a healthy living and also how music could be potentially used as a tool for communication nad as stress buster. The programme laid focus on the core management principles needed for achieving excellence in Academic Leadership, ie, knowledge creation, dissemination and application, along with the need to work around problems. Prominent speakers who shared their thoughts with the participants included Dr.P.S.Easa, former Director KFRI, Dr. Rahul. S IPS, SP, National Investigating Agency, Kochi , Sri Surendran, Head Programmes, Mathrubhumi Television, Dr. Sreevalsan J.Menon, Associate Professor, KAU, Dr. Usha Menon, Professor, AIMS Kochi, Dr. M.Sivaraman, former Director, Centre for Management Development . Former Vice Chancellor of KVASU, Dr.B.Ashok IAS will be addressing the participants on the penultimate day of the programme. The Orientation Programme will conclude on March 9th, which will be addressed by Dr. P.P.Balan, Director ,Kerala Institute of Local Administration, Thrissur.
