School of Zoonoses Public Health and Pathobiology organised Workshop in Culture of Responsibility on 18th March 2016
The workshop on ‘Culture of Responsibility was organized by the School of Zoonoses Public Health and Pathobiology in association with the American Society of Microbiology for the first year M V Sc and residency students of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy on March 18th 2016. The training was attended by 52 students. Dr C. Latha, Implementing Officer, SZPHPB welcomed the gathering. The CD of the workshop proceedings was released by Dr N Vijayan, Professor and Head, Department of Veterinary Pathology which was received by Dr M Mini, Professor and Head, Dept. of Veterinary Microbiology. Dr P V Treesamol , Professor and Head, Dept of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, delivered the felicitation address. Dr Binsy Mathew, Assistant Professor, Dept. of VPH gave the vote of thanks. The workshop included sessions on biological safety and biosecurity in the laboratory and need for responsible research. The trainees actively participated in the workshop. The sessions were handled by Dr K Vrinda Menon, Course Coordinator, who has been trained by The American Society of Microbiology (ASM) and Society of Biosafety (India) at Veterinary College Bangaluru. The videos and the training modules were provided by ASM. The participants actively participated in the various sessions of the workshop. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants by Dr N Vijayan.
