22Achievement Day 2016” celebrated at Centre for Pig Production and Research, Mannuthy on 19.03.2016 for generating more than two crore rupees as internal revenue
The Centre for Pig Production and Research, Mannuthy achieved a new height by generating more than two crore rupees as internal revenue from the sale of breeding and fattening pigs to farmers within and outside state. To mark this, “Achievement Day 2016” was celebrated at CPPR on 19.03.2016. A five day training programme for progressive pig farmers on “Profitable pig farming” was organized, the valedictory function of which was also arranged on the same day. “Achievement Day 2016” began with a welcome speech delivered by Dr. A. P. Usha, Professor & Head, CPPR. The programme was presided over by the Registrar, KVASU. He congratulated the team lead by Dr. A. P. Usha, Professor & Head, CPPR on this prestigious achievement for their hard work and team-spirit. Dr. K. Devada, Director (Academics & Research), KVASU delivered the Key note address. The two crore cheque was received by Dr. K. M. Syam Mohan, Finance Officer, KVASU from Dr. A. P. Usha. The Director of Entrepreneurship, KVASU, Dr. T. P. Sethumadhavan distributed certificates to the progressive pig farmers who successfully completed their five day training on “Profitable pig farming”. Dr. Sisilamma George, Faculty Dean, Member Board of Management, KVASU, Dr. Sabin George, Member Board of Management, KVASU, Dr. K. VijayaKumar, Dean CVAS Pookode, Dr. K. Anil Kumar., Associate Dean, CVAS Mannuthy and Dr. H. Subramanian, Special Officer, M&E Cell, KVASU felicitated the gathering. The trainees also gave an encouraging feedback of the training programme. Cultural programmes by the farm labourers were also arranged to add colour to the “Achievement Day 2016” celebration. Dr. E. D. Benjamin proposed the vote of thanks. The senior officers of the University visited the Artificial Insemination Laboratory of the Pig Farm and were impressed by the facilities available at the AI laboratory. The celebration culminated with a grand feast organized in the Centre for Pig Production and Research, Mannuthy.
