06As part of building collaboration between Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and National Dairy Development Board a team of officials visit under the leadership of Dr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, General Manager from NDDB, Anand began at KVASU Mannuthy campus on 6th June 2016. This was as a sequel to KVASU officers meeting held at NDDB from 27th and 28th January 2016. Key areas identified for collaboration include training programmes to promote dairy entrepreneurship among farmers and educated rural youth, Field testing of useful innovation in the areas of animal husbandry and dairying, Developing and Defining parameters and standards for bovine comfort and bovine signals for India and ration Balancing Programme. NDDB will pursue for International collaborations, Holistic dairy husbandry models, including bovine signals and bovine comfort to maximize profits from Dairy farming. It will also include exposure cum orientation programme for final year BVSc and AH and B.Tech students of KVASU on the field implementation of productivity enhancement activities coordinated by NDDB, as part of their internship programme. Moreover joint collaboration will contribute articles on applied research, share experience gained while implementing various animal husbandry and extension activities, innovative techniques, success stories, case studies to Dairy Knowledge Portal launched by NDDB for wider circulation of the same among the dairy farming fraternity.
Registrar Dr.Joseph Mathew delivered the introductory talk at Mannuthy on 6th June 2016. Dean, CVAS, Mannuthy Dr.Sisilamma George presided over the function. Director of Entrepreneurship Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan welcomed the delegates. Finance Officer Dr.Syam Mohan, Dean, CDST, Mannuthy Dr.Gireesh Varma, Associate Dean, CDST, Chettachal Dr.Sudheer Babu, Associate Dean Dr.Anilkumar, and Director of Students Welfare Dr.N.Divakaran Nair offered felicitations.NDDB Officials Dr.Ashok Gupts, Dr.Sanjay, Dr.Bandari and Dr.A.V.Harikumar presented activities of NDDB. Dr.K.P.Sreekumar, Director International Co-operation moderated the session.KVASU Scientists presented their innovations in the After noon session. Dr.N.Divakaran Nair moderated the session.
