Extension training of 2012 B. Tech (Dairy Science and Technology) of CDST, Mannuthy

The seven days Extension Training as part of the curriculum of B. Tech (Dairy Science and Technology) for 2012 batch was conducted under the guidance of Dairy Development Department, Wayanad from 30.5.2016 to 6.6.2016.

The programme of seven days included survey of dairy farmers; visit to cattle feed plant, micro dairy plant, high capacity dairy plants (milma), Meat processing Unit, School Dairy clubs, Bulk Milk Coolers, Community Radio, Dairy Extension Service Unit, Joint Liability groups etc. The students also studied about the IT initiatives in dairy sector, product diversification, milk quality from farmer to dairy plant, dairy software, touch screen kiosks, video conferencing, farm fresh milk etc. They also took active participation in the World Milk Day Celebrations, Infertility camp, preparation of milk products and preparation of dairy plant layouts.

The students were guided by Mr. Jose Immanual (Deputy Director, Wayanad ), Mr. M. Prakash (Deputy Director, Palakkad), Ms. Sinila Unnikrishnan (Asst. Director), Mr. Varkey George (Quality Control Officer) and other officials of Dairy Development. CDST, Mannuthy is very thankful for the help and support rendered by the Dairy Department officials, Milma, Dairy Co-operatives, Dairy farmers and other agencies for the conduct of the programme.

Mr. Shyam Suraj S.R. and Dr. R. Kanthanathan were the Co-ordinators for theprogramme. A report presentation of the training was organized at Seminar Hall of Dairy plant on 14.6.2016, 9 am attended by Dr. T.P. Sethumadadhavan (Director of Entrepreneurship), Dr. G. Girish Varma (Dean), Dr. S.N. Rajakumar (Head, Dairy Plant), Dr. Deepa Ananth, Dr. Yancy mary Issac, Ms. Divya M.P and Ms. Neethu Lazar.
