20Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in association with Pullazi Kole Sahakarana Sangham organized a Seminar on Poultry production as part of Startup village on 20th September 2016 at Pullazhi Library Hall, Thrissur. In order to promote Safe to eat products, Directorate of Entrepreneurship is implementing this project in Pullazhi Kole through integrating Agri, Livestock and Fisheries Sectors. 30 Entrepreneurs are involved in this project. The project envisages for producing and marketing Safe to eat vegetables, rice, chicken, milk and eggs. University recently launched the Commercial launch of the Products under the label KASAVU. It will be made available through the sale Counters of Pullazhi Kole Sahakarana Sangham and KVASU sale counter at Mannuthy.
University distributed Crossbred layer birds developed by All India Co-ordinated research Project of Indian Council of Agriculture Research, Mannuthy and Poultry feed from Revolving Fund hatchery. Crossbred color layers which can yield up to 250 eggs per annum were distributed. Corporation Councillor Smt. Rajani Viji distributed birds to the beneficiaries. President of Pullazhi Kole Sahakaranasangham Sri.K.Gopinathan presided over the function. Director of Entrepreneurship Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan and Director of Students Welfare Dr.N.Divakaran Nair addressed the Entrepreneurs.
During the Seminar on Poultry Production Asst Professors of KVASU’s AICRP on Poultry Dr.Binoj Chacko, Dr.Suja and Dr.Surej Banglavan (Asst Professor, University Livestock Farm) took classes. University promotes good agricultural practices to market safe to eat products.
