Smt. Molly Cherian retired from service

 Smt. T. Molly Cherian, Associate Professor, Department of Physical Education. College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy Campus retired from service on 19th January 2012 consequent to superannuation. Smt. Molly Cherian commonly known as Molly Teacher among the students of KVASU was the first woman athlete from Kerala and Assumption College to win gold medal for 200 meters at the National level. Moreover Molly Teacher was continuously been the individual Champion of Kerala University for three years.
Other remarkable achievements are listed below.

All India Inter State Championship, 1968 at Madras

• All India gold medalist for 200 meters.
• Silver medalist for 100 mtrs
• Bronze medalist for 4X100 mtrs relay

All India Inter State Championship, 1969 at Jullundur

• Bronze medalist for 200 meters
• Bronze medalist for 400 meters

Inter University Level

Inter University Athletic Meet, 1969 at Baroda

• Silver medalist for 400 meters
• Silver medalist for 100 meters
• Bronze medalist for 200 meters

Inter Collegiate Meet, 1969 (November) at Trivandrum

• Gold medalist for 100 meters
• Gold medalist for 200 meters
• Gold medalist for 400 meters with New Record

(Consecutive Individual Champion for the period 1967, 1969 February and 1969 November)
