07The Honourable Governor of Kerala and Chancellor of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Shri Justice (Retd) P.Sathasivam inaugurated the University Day Celebrations 2019 at KVASU headquarter, at Pookode, Wayanad, Kerala. On the occasion, the Technology Business Incubation Centre (TBIC) of KVASU and Gothra Mission Project- a project for SC/ ST youth on farming and entrepreneurship was launched by the Honourable Chancellor at CVAS, Pookode campus.
Honourable Chancellor also released the University publications on “Goat farming”, “The COHEART Journey” and “The development programme of KVASU”. The Governor congratulated the award winners and presented them with citations and memento. KVASU also honoured its employees who completed 30 years of service in the University in various capacities, as part of the University Day Celebrations.
During his address to the University fraternity, he stressed the need for a farmer friendly approach from the Universities and expressed his satisfaction regarding the pro-farmer attitude of KVASU. He also suggested to provide necessary directions and advice to the entrepreneurs in initiating projects and to solve their problems. The students also have to be given opportunity to interact with farmers to sort out the problems faced by the farming community of our State.
Shri Devendra Kumar IAS, Vice Chancellor of KVASU presided over the function. Registrar Dr Joseph Mathew welcomed the gathering. Dr K M Shyam Mohan Finance Officer, Dr C Latha Dean of Veterinary faculty and Dr P Sudheer Babu Dean of Dairy faculty offered felicitation. Members of Board of Management, Management Council, Academic Council, Faculty , Employees, Labourers and Students attended the function. Dr M K Narayanan, DE, KVASU offered Vote of Thanks.
