29July 6th is commemorated as “World Zoonoses Day” to emphasize and bring the problem awareness amongst people, and teach them to take right action.We participate on ‘World Zoonoses Day’ along with the rest of the world, under the hope to lead a healthier life, in order to educate and create public awareness about the importance of zoonoses. To commemorate the World Zoonoses Day, a Technical-cum-interactive seminar on “Zoonoses Management-Help build a healthy society” is organized for health inspectors and other public health staffs from Wayanad district. Simultaneously, various competitions for school and veterinary students on the theme “Know Zoonosis for No Zoonosis” and free anti-rabies vaccination campaign and rabies antibody titre assessment of previously immunized veterinarians will be also held. The World Zoonoses Day commemoration is jointly organized by Department of Veterinary Public Health and Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine of COVAS, Pookode in association with Indian Veterinary Association, Pookode Unit .
