Dr.Reghu Ravindran bagged Krishi Vigyan Award of the state

 Dr. Reghu Ravindran, Asst Prof, Dept of Veterinary Parasitology, CVAS, Pookode of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has been awarded the"Krishi Vigyan Award 2011" by the Govt of Kerala for his pioneering research in the area of Veterinary Parasitology.Dr. Reghu Ravindran has been awarded best teacher award of P.G.Nair  Endowement.

Major research projects include

Haemoprotozoan and haemorickettsial diseases of cattle of Northern Kerala. Funding agency: Animal Husbandry Department, Kerala. Total Outlay: Rs. 98000/- from 26-4-07 to 31-1-08 (as Principal Investigator).
Investigations on the role of dogs in the transmission of Brugian filariosis to humans and molecular epidemiology of filarial infections. Funding agency: Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment. Total outlay Rs.7,04,000/- From 20-4-07 to 31-3-2010(as Principal Investigator).
PCR based detection of carrier bovines of middle zone of Kerala infected with haemoprotozoan and haemorickettsial organisms. Funding agency: Animal Husbandry Department, Kerala. Total Outlay: Rs.4, 08,000/-. From 10-3-09 to 31-3-2010 (as Principal Investigator).
Coprological survey on endoparasites causing gastroenteritis in cattle of Wayanad district of Kerala. (Student research Project) Funding agency: Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment. Total outlay Rs.8000/- Duration 1 year from 1-8-09 to 01-08-2010 (as Principal Investigator).
Study of herbal acaricides as means to overcome the development of resistance in ticks to conventional acaricides. (ICAR-NAIP). Funding agency: ICAR. Total outlay Rs. 71.09 lakhs. Duration: Four years from 22nd July, 2008 to 31st March, 2012 From 22nd July 2008 to 31-3-2012 ( 4 years) (as Principal Investigator) (currently ongoing project).
