25 XXVIIth Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists (IAVA) and National Symposium on Advances in Applied Anatomy of Domestic and Wild Animals – ‘An Interdisciplinary approach for Animal Health and Wealth’ will be hed at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, Thrissurfrom 28th to 30th November 2012. Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists and Kerala State Veterinary Council are organizing this Symposium.Dr.R.Prabakaran, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will inaugurate the Symposium on 28th November 2012. President IAVA and Dean, S.V.V.U, Tirupati Dr.T.S.Chandrasekhara Rao will preside over the function. Vice Chancellor KVASU Dr.B.Ashok IAS will release the Compiled book of lead papers titled Emerging Concepts in Veterinary Anatomy. Director, Museums & Zoos and President, Kerala State Veterinary Council Dr. K. Udayavarman will inaugurate the Wild life Photography exhibition. Director of Academics and Research Dr.A. Jalaludeen will deliver the keynote address. Director of Entrepreneurship Dr.S.Ramkumar will release the Compendium. Registrar, Kerala State Veterinary Council Dr.N.N.Sasi and Registrar KVASU Dr.K.P.Sreekumar are among the few dignitaries who will offer felicitations. General Convenor Dr.J.J.Chungath will welcome the delegates and Organizing Secretary Dr.N.Ashok will express vote of thanks.
200 delegates from India will participate in the three day Symposium and present scientific papers. Dr.T.V.Anilkumar, Scientist, Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences, Trivandrum will deliver Dr. Vijayaraghavan memorial lecture on 28th November 2012. As part of the Symposium best PhD and MVSc Thesis Awards will be presented to researchers on 30th November 2012. Different sessions in the Symposium includes Gross and Developmental Anatomy, Biomechanics, Forensic Anatomy and Fossils, Clinical Anatomy, immunology and immune histochemistry, Histology, Avian Anotomy, Wild life Anatomy and Biotechnology.
