An experiential learning programme held at Muriyad, Thrissur

An experiential learning programme was organized for the students of CVAS, Mannuthy by the NSS unit of KVASU on 29th of December 2012 at Muriyaad Grama Panchayath, in association with the seven day special NSS camp of College of Cooperation and Banking, KAU. Fifty one student volunteers attended the programme with the objective of conducting a detailed SWOC analysis of the cattle rearing folk in Anadhapuram area and to gain direct experience from the farmers.

The volunteers visited the  houses in groups guided by farmer’s representative and teachers. The group members were pre-trained to conduct the SWOC analysis and were asked to observe in detail the farmer premises,  management measures and  discussed with them.A farmer student interaction and scientific seminar session was held under the leadership of the office bearers of milk Cooperative society and LSGs with Dr.T.S. Rajeev, Asst Professor and Dr. K.M. Lucy as moderators, Dr. N. Madhavan unni, Dr. Hiron M. Harshan & Dr. Deepak Mathew as the subject matter specialists.
