10Second graduation day ceremony of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University was held at the University headquarters at Pookode, Wayanad on 9th February 2013. Pro-Chancellor and Honourable Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sri K.P. Mohanan awarded the degrees to successful candidates. Dr Mini.K.V of College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy bagged first rank in B.V.Sc. and A.H. and Kum. Sweety Varghese of College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthy bagged 1st rank in B.Tech (Dairy Science and Technology). Dr Aparna V. who stood first in B.V.Sc. and A.H. from the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode received the gold medal instituted by the PTA of the College. Girls bagged nine out of the ten top ranks in B.V.Sc. and A.H. The degrees were awarded in a record time of three days after announcement of the results. Minister in his address congratulated the successful students and spoke on the efforts put forward by the government to enrich the Animal Husbandry sector of the state. Member of the Board of Management of KVASU Mr Sreyamskumar MLA, highlighted the importance of domestic breeds and the need to relaunch programmes to conserve local breeds. Vice Chancellor Dr B. Ashok in his address exhorted the students to be lifelong learners and to be compassionate in their discourse and practice. Dr K.P.Sreekumar, Registrar welcomed the gathering and Dr A Jalaludeen, Diector, Academic and Research expressed vote of thanks.
