22 Inauguration of the third Workshop on “Companion Animal Welfare and Clinical Education” in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh for faculty members of KVASU, funded by the British Council and Introduction to the PG Certificate Course on Laboratory Animal Medicine in collaboration with the University of Guelph will be held on 18th February 2013 at the Seminar Hall, CVAS, Mannuthy at 9.00 A.M. Professor Natalie Waran, Team leader and Director of The Jeanne Marchig International Centre for Animal Welfare Education(JMICAWE), Dr. Ruth de Vere, Head of International Education for the World Society for Protection of Animals (WSPA), Dr. Heather Bacon, Veterinary Welfare & Outreach Manager, JMICAWE (Vet), Hayley Walters, Veterinary & Animal Welfare Nurse, JMICAWE and Dr. Patricia Turner, Program leader, Laboratory Animal Sciences, Ontario Vet. College, University of Guelph, Canada, will be attending the function.
The workshop will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor ,Dr.B.Ashok, IAS in the presence of University dignitaries. It will be attended by 15 faculty members of KVASU from 18th to 22nd at CVAS, Mannuthy.Dr. Patricia Turner, Program leader, Laboratory Animal Sciences, Ontario Vet. College, University of Guelph, Canada will be speaking on Laboratory Animal Medicine–A Practice Speciality for Veterinarians : Global Perspectives Emphasizing Higher Education on the same day.The formal launch of the PG Certificate Course on Laboratory Animal Medicine will be at Thiruvanathapuram on 19th, 2013 followed by a two day training programme.
