07 Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in association with district panchayath Calicut organised a one day workshop, for implementation of Ksheeragramam project in Kozhikode district, on 5th March 2013 at the Seminar Hall of the Veterinary College, Pookode. Around hundred representatives of local self governing bodies from Calicut district attended the function. University registrar Dr.K.P.Sreekumar welcomed the gathering and Dr.B.Ashok IAS, Honourable Vice Chancellor of university inaugurated the function. In his address Vice Chancellor pointed out the possibilities of panchayaths collaborating with the university in establishing village resource centres and the better utilization of animal husbandry Sector for the upliftment of backward sectors. Dr.S.Ramkumar, Director of Entrepreneurship detailed on various institutions of KVASU and services offered by them. Kozhikode District panchayath president Smt. Kanathil Jameela informed about the Ksheeragramam project of Kozhikode District and requested the cooperation of KVASU in the implementation of project for the successful outcome in the coming years. She also appealed to the KVASU to implement the successful ‘Aishwarya Poultry Project’ of the University in different parts of Kozhikode district. Dr.A.Jalaludheen (DAR) and Dr.George.T.Oommen also spoke on the occasion. Dr.Leo Joseph, Dean, CV&AS, Pookode offered vote of thanks.
The Panel Discussion that followed on measures to be adopted for the better implementation of ‘Ksheeragramam’ project was moderated by Dr. Saseendranath (Director i/c Academic & Research). The workshop was coordinated by Dr.R.Senthilkumar, Head, Department of Veterinary Extension.
