27Dr. Joseph Mathew, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy retired from service on 16th May 2011 consequent to superannuation. He belongs to 1973 admission batch of BVSc (First rank holder in first batch of KAU) and acquired his masters in Animal Reproduction in 1976. He worked as Veterinary Surgeon in State Animal Husbandry Department and later joined in the Department of Animal Reproduction as Instructor on 11/02/1977. Dr.Joseph Mathew had guided 4 MVSc students as Major Advisor and has 20 research publications in different National and International journals and more than 50 popular articles in various farm journals and news papers to his credit. He has worked as the Head, LRS, Thiruvazhamkunnu; Head, CBF, Thumburmuzhi; Head, ULF, Mannuthy; Fodder Research Officer; Associate Professor in Communication Centre; Head, Veterinary College Hospital, Mannuthy; and Professor (RC). He has also worked in various External funded projects like DST Project on Hypothyroidism; Cattle Infertility Schemes at Mavelikkara and Calicut; AICRP on Goats and Field Progeny Testing Scheme. On behalf of the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University the Vice Chancellor wrote to Dr.Joseph Mathew wishing a very active and fruitful post tenure life, hopefully in close association with the research activities of the University.
