14Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University organized a press meet at Gokulam Park, Kochi on 9th July 2011 to create awareness on the new MS and Diploma programmes. Vice Chancellor of the University Dr.B.Ashok IAS led the press meet. Registrar Dr.C.B.Manomohan, Director of Academics and Research Dr. A.Jalaludeen, Professor Research Dr.K.P.Sreekumar and Academic Consultant Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan participated in the Press meet. Dr.Prasad, Dr.Lucy Sabu, Dr.Ajith Babu, Dr.George Chandy and Dr.Gleeja presented papers on new emerging courses.

KVASU opens vistas of MS, Diploma courses

Kochi, July 9, 2011: Students aspiring to pursue veterinary courses had never it so good. The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is calling them to pursue a variety of courses at its three campuses, one at Pookode in Wayanad and two at Mannuthy in Thrissur.
Now is the time to apply for these job-oriented courses and the Vice-Chancellor of the university Dr B Ashok IAS called a press meet in Kochi today to reach out to the student community through the media so that interested students are benefited.
The new Masters courses being launched from 2011-12 are Master of Science in Biostatistics, Master of Science in Quality Systems in Dairy Processing and Master of Science in Wildlife Studies.
The new Diploma courses are Diploma in Poultry Production, Diploma in Laboratory Techniques and Diploma in Dairy Science.
The Certificate courses are Certificate in Capacity Building for Livestock Technology Enterprise and Certificate Course in Wildlife Management.
These courses are apart from the existing BVSc and AH course and BTech (Dairy Science and Technology) courses being offered by the varsity. The university also runs Master of Veterinary Science course (MVSc) and PhD in various disciplines.
A fixed number of candidates admitted for Master's and PhD degree programmes are eligible for Assistanship, said the Vice-Chancellor. The Assistanceship for Master's programme is at the rate of Rs 10,000/- per month and PhD at the rate of Rs 20,000/- per month. The eligibility for assistanceship shall be decided based on the marklist prepared for admission.
All the students admitted to Master's and PhD programmes are eligible to get a scholarship amount of Rs 4,000/- and Rs 5000/- per month respectively.

The last date to apply for MS programmes is August 10.
