26Research findings in the AH sector should be utilised to provide better services to the Entrepreneurs of rural areas: Says Hon'ble Minister for Animal Husbandry and Pro Chancellor of KVASU Sri. K.P.Mohanan. Minister made this statement during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Dr.K.R.Narayanan Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex (KRTVCC) at KVASU Mannuthy Campus, Thrissur on 21st NOvember 2013.Diversification into value added products and effective marketing strategies are necessary for ensuring good earnings for farmers. More funds will be included in the forthcoming budget if necessary; the Minister added. During the occasion Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development, Planning, Culture & Dairy Development, Government of Kerala Shri.K.C.Joseph laid the foundation stone for Dr. Verghese Kurien Institute of Dairy and Food Technology (VKIDFT). Hon'ble MInister Sri K.C.Joseph suggested that plan funds will not be sufficient to meet the expenditure required for research in Dairy sector in the State. Minister stressed the need for modern research in the milk production sector and suggested that VKIDFT will benefit students, farmers and public in the State.

Documentary “Ashayangal avishakarathilekku” regarding the history, services, academics, research, entrepreneurship of various stations of KVASU released by The Directorate of Entrepreneurship as part of the “Mobile Exhibition unit” was dedicated to the public by the Honorable vice chancellor Dr.B.Ashok, IAS by handing over a copy of the CD to Mrs.Sudha, member, Board of management ,KVASU.Documentary on “Upadhanakshamathayude kanappurangal” produced by the Directorate or Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Doordarshan Kendra as part of plan project entitlted “Productivity Enhancement in Dairying” was released by Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr.B.Ashok,IAS by handing over a copy of the CD to The Director, Animal Husbandry Department Dr.V.Brahmanandan.The international Brochure of KVASU catering to the needs of the students from International community was released by Smt.Nirmala Kurien, daughter of Late Padmasree. Dr.Varghese Kurien. The copy of the Brochure was received by Smt.K.T.Sarojini, Director, Dairy de4velopment Department. Registrar Dr.K.P.Sreekumar welcomed the delegates and Organizing Secretary Dr.P.I. Geevarghese expressed vote of thanks.
