16The Workshop on “Curriculum development of One Health Post Graduate programme” will be held atHotel Wayanad Gate from 16th and 17th December, 2013.The programme will be inaugurated by the Hon’ Vice Chancellor, Dr. B. Ashok, IAS. The University will soon launch Technology enabled distance learning degree programs (PG certificate/ PG diploma/ MPH) on “One Health”.One health concept is a worldwide strategy for expanding interdisciplinary collaborations in all aspects of health care of humans, animals and the environment and the synergism thus achieved will advance health care for the 21st century. The workshop thus intends to improve the curriculum content of the course which will be structured in order to build knowledge, develop skills and provide exposure to various situations where One Health concept can be applied in public health systems.This concept invites public health professionals, human health and veterinary clinicians to adopt a global approach when dealing with health risks associated with human-animal interactions. In addition to discussion on course, a meeting on One Health Platform is scheduled with the intention to initiate anintersectoral collaborationfor the state.
