29 An awareness programme on ‘Know zoonoses to no zoonoses’ was jointly organized by NSS Unit, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy and School of Zoonoses, Public Health and Pathobiology in association with Animal Husbandry Department, Department of Health, Education Department, National Health Mission and Suchitva Mission at Govt. Fisheries VHSS, Kaipamangalam on 25th October, 2014. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Anitha Babu, Panchayat President, Kaipamangalam and was presided by Smt. Jancy Raphel, Health Standing Committee chairman. Dr. C. B. Manomohan, Professor and NSS Co-Ordinator explained the plan of action and also delivered felicitation in the function. Sri. Vibin, Health Department, Smt. Bhavani, Principal, Govt. Fisheries VHSS, Kaipamangalam, Dr. C. Latha, Professor and NSS Programme Co-Ordinator, CVAS, Mannuthy and Smt. Beena, NSS programme co-ordinator, Govt. Fisheries VHSS, Kaipamangalam delivered felicitations. Silpa Sasi, NSS Leader, CVAS, Mannuthy delivered vote of thanks.
The programme included an awareness class on zoonoses by Dr. K. Vrinda Menon, Assistant Professor, Dept of VPH, CVAS, Mannuthy, an exhibition with the focal theme on zoonoses and competitions including drawing, painting and quiz. The quiz competition was won by Aiswarya E. S. and Silby P.S. of tenth standard. The first position in drawing competition was for Yadhumurali T. (tenth standard ) and painting competition was for Gopika A.J. (eighth standard).
