31A three day residential training programme on “Scientific Management of Reproduction in Cattle” was conducted at the Department of Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, COVAS, Mannuthy from 23rd to 25th October 2014. A total of 20 women dairy farmers from Idukki district have participated and the training was jointly organised by ATMA and Directorate of Entrepreneurship,KVASU.
The session was inaugurated by Dr.Sisilamma George, Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy in which Dr. T.P.Sethumadhavan, Director of Entrepreneurship, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University presided. Three day training programme included both theory and practical sessions. Practical sessions included farm visits and hands on training on heat detection and other reproductive management techniques. Training programme was coordinated by Dr.K.N.Aravinda Ghosh, Professor& Head, Department of Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Training programme was concluded on 25th October and the valedictory session was presided by Dr. Gireesh Varma, Dean, CDST, Mannuthy and the certificate distribution was done by Dr. Joseph Mathew, Registrar, KVASU.
