19In order to promote Entrepreneurship in the State, Government of Kerala will start a livestock based Entrepreneurship centre at Livestock Research Station, Thiruvazhamkunnu, Palakkad District. Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Government of Kerala Sri. K.P.Mohanan made this Statement on 17th November 2014 while visiting the newly started College of Avian Sciences and Management at Thiruvazhamkunnu, Palakkad District. Minister congratulated the officers of KVASU for their effort in establishing the new poultry Science Faculty at Thiruvazhamkunnu. During the visit Hon’ble Minister visited the construction site, addressed the students, officers of KVASU and the non teaching staff and labourers of Thiruvazhamkunnu Campus. Taking in to account the rich resources of the farm Minister suggested to launch Neera processing Unit, Milk chilling plant, Value addition Centre, Innovation incubation Centre, Entrepreneurship centre and rotational grazing system in the farm. Global innovative initiatives and Worldwide Universities network identified the Thiruvazhamkunnu farm as one of the future farms of the globe. Special Officer of College of Avian Sciences and Management Dr.A.Jalaludeen and Associate Professor and Head, LRS Dr.A.Kannan explained the activities of the college and the LRS respectively. Director of Entrepreneurship, KVASU Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan made the introductory speech. Dean, CDST Dr.G.Gireesh Varma, Dean, CVAS, Mannuthy Dr.Sisilamma George, Finance Officer Dr.H.Subramanian, Director(IC) Dr.K.P.Sreekumar, Director, CASPS Dr.Leo Joseph and Assistant Professor Dr.Marikkuty attended the meeting.
