24 Department of Veterinary Public Health, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode had organized a “Talk and Tea Programme” at the department seminar hall on 19th November, 2014. The programme was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) K. Vijayakumar, Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode who valued the need to conduct such informal talks open for all sections of staffs which will serve as a break in their hectic schedule and help in personally acquainting with everyone. Dr. Vinod V.K, Assistant Professor delivered the welcome speech and briefed about the programme. The speaker of the day was Shri. M. Harigovind, Section officer, Academic section, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pookode. He was introduced to the audience by Dr. B. Sunil, Professor and Head, Department of VPH, CVAS, Pookode, who also mentioned that the department envisaged in conducting a series of such programmes over a span of one year on topics other than veterinary science. The topic for the day was Communication skills- speech and writing. Shri Harigovind narrated the importance of language and addressed on how to communicate effectively using illustrated examples from famous books and learned authors. Dr. Prejit, Asst. Prof., delivered vote of thanks. This was subsequently followed by tea break wherein participants interacted whole heartedly with each other and with the resource person.
