27Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will start a new centre for Ethno pharmacology for popularizing the research on Ethno Veterinary medicine. This was declared by Dr.B.Ashok IAS Vice Chancellor, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University while delivering the inaugural address of National Seminar on ’Newer perspectives of Ethno pharmacology-It’s Clinical implications-Opportunities and Challenges’ held at College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy. The University has also initiated collaboration with internationally reputed Ayurvedic Institutes to advance research activities in this field especially in cases of validation of existing practices for prevention and control of animal diseases. Dr.S.Ramkumar, Director of Entrepreneurship, KVASU presided over the function.
Dr.A.Subrahmanion, Vice President, Kerala Academy of Sciences delivered the key note address. While delivering the key note address, Dr.Subrahmanion emphasized the need for phytotherapic approach for developing new drugs. Dr. C.B.Manomohan, Registrar released the Compendium published in connection with the National seminar and offered felicitations. Dr.A.Jalaludeen, Director, Academics and Research, Dr.Rajagopalan and Dr.Reghunandanan offered felicitations. Dr.H.Subrahmanian, Dean, CVAS, Mannuthy welcomed the gathering and Dr.Usha.P.T.A expressed vote of thanks. Around 100 delegates participated in the National Seminar.
