07KVASU-MRCMPU to establish 25 veterinary and Entrepreneurship service Centres in the State
Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will collaborate with Malabar Regional Milk Producers Union (MRCMPU) in the areas of Veterinary services, Entrepreneurship development, Technology transfer and knowledge dissemination in the six northern districts of the State. Senior officials of KVASU and MRCMPU had entered in to an agreement in this regard. This collaboration will pave way for increased Veterinary services and Entrepreneurship development and knowledge dissemination in the Malabar region. KVASU will provide area specific mineral mixtures to the Dairy co-operatives through MRCMPU.KVASU will establish a Dairy Business School at Pookode campus to train Entrepreneurs who are interested to involve in Dairying as a major venture. KVASU’s 24x7 veterinary services namely e Vet connect will be linked with the Veterinary and Entrepreneurship Centres and will provided Call centre, CRM and Emergency facilities. 50 veterinary graduates including 25 diploma holders in Laboratory animal techniques will be recruited for establishing Veterinary Service and entrepreneurship centres. The selection will be made through campus recruitment.
As part of strengthening extension programme, Directorate of Entrepreneurship of KVASU will organize Farmer-Scientists interactions, farmer outreach programmes, and capacity building programmes for livestock based women SHGs in collaboration with MRCMPU and Kudumbashree mission.
KVASU will organize Entrepreneur to Banker meet and Buyer to buyer meet to promote livestock based Entrepreneurship in the state. Student Entrepreneurship will pave way for consumer friendly technology initiative. Technology Business Centres will facilitate new product development and evolution of new delivery models.
KVASU organised two a training programme for progressive dairy farmers of the Wayanad and Kozhikkode District from 5th to 6th January 2015. This was organized in association with MRCMPU, British Council, Global innovative initiative. Objective of the programme is to promote sustainable dairy farming as envisaged by Global farm platform. University of Bristol (UK), University of Wisconsin, Kansas (USA), University of zhejiagh(China) are collaborating with KVASU in this venture. This will facilitate sustainable dairying and organic farming in the State Says Vice Chancellor Dr.B.Ashok. Registrar Dr.Joseph Mathew inaugurated the valedictory session and addressed the farmers.
