06A focus group discussion to pursue international collaboration with the The Netherland's higher education and vocational training institutes were held at Hotel Mascot, Trivandrum on 2nd February 2015.Vice Chancellor Dr.B.Ashok chaired the session. Director, Academics and Research Dr.K.Devada, Director of Entrepreneurship Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan and Director Farms Dr.A.P.Usha presented papers in their respective areas.Dr.G.J.Duives, Co-ordinator of International Project, HAS University of applied Sciences and Teus Korevaar, Head of International Department, Aeres group, The Netherlands presented papers on prospects and challenges of education in The Netherlans. Meeting decided to pursue for a meaningful collaboration which may lead to an MOU in future. Energy efficient farming, Productivity enhancement, slaughter house Management, Mechanisation, adaptive agriculture, sustainability, entrepreneurship, Market development, Technology enabled courses, revamping of training centres and Animal welfare are some of the areas identified for discussion. The Netherlands officials visited KVASU farms at Mannuthy on 5th February 2015 to formulate future areas of collaboration with KVASU.
