12Kudumbasree should take up new ventures using innovative scientific technology says Hon.Minister of State for Agriculture And Animal Husbandry Sri K.P.Mohanan. He was addressing in the inaugural function of Goat Breeding Units for Kannur Goat farmers Producer Company Limited organized by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Kudumbasree District Mission, Kannur on 9th February 2015 at Bioresource centre Panoor.
KVASU in collaboration with the Kannur Kudumbasree unit has established breeding unit for Kannur Goat Breeders Producer Company Limited the producer company under “Samagra goat village,” scheme of Kudumbasree, Kannur. Through this scheme, the university will provide 20 bucks to 20 breeding units of the “Samagra goat village” scheme having 4000 women goat farmers, coordinated by Kudumbasree Mission of Kannur District. The bucks are provided under AICRP scheme on Malabari goat improvement project of Centre for advanced studies of Animal Breeding and Genetics. The university has also provided model goat cage to Kudumbasree Kannur under the scheme of the Directorate of entrepreneurship “Equipping livestock based commodity interest group for sustainable production” The university has also distributed mineral mixture and deworming medicines to 200beneficiaries under this scheme. A docket was released by the Hon.Minister Sri K.P.Mohanan on this occasion. The goat cage offered by KVASU to Kudumbasree was by Panoor Jilla panchayat member Sri.P.V.Rajeendranath.
Director Dr.T.P.Sethumadhavan delivered the keynote address. Dr.Deepa Ananth, coordinator for this programme welcomed the gathering . Sri. P.P. Sreedharan, Coordinator for “ NIRUAVU” Koothuparmaba Constituency, Sri. P.V.Rajeendranath, member, Jilla Panchayat, P.P.Ramachandran, Bioresource Centre, Sri. M.V.Premraj, District Mission coordinator Kudumbasree Kannur offered falicitations. Dr.Thirupathy Venkitachalapathy, Associate Professor, University Goat farm Mannuthy described the project. Smt. K.P.Sindhu offered vote of thanks.
