09 Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will implement Student Entrepreneurship Programme from 1st May 2015 onwards. A decision in this regard was taken during the 39th Board of Management meeting held at Pookode campus on 1st April 2015. As part of the Student Entrepreneurship Project, a student can work up to 10 Hours per week with a maximum of 40 hours per month. A student will be paid Rs 50/- per hour for the part time work. Through this programme, a student can earn up to Rs 2000/- per month. This will help the economically backward students to find appropriate income to support the studies. KVASU is the first University in the State to implement part time work to students as part of Student Entrepreneurship to support the students. This System is prevalent in Western Universities. Deans of the respective campuses will announce the available job hours for the part time work. Based on the demand students will be selected from the Student labour bank.
Recently University started the sales counter at Mannuthy, Thrissur campus. All the products of the University including dairy and meat products and publications are available for sale in the new sales counter. The sales counter will be fully manned by students and sell all the products of the University including products developed by the students as part of experiential learning project. A meeting was held at University Mannuthy campus to review the implementation of the forthcoming student entrepreneurship project.
